Other Engineering Entrance Exams :
Selection to the engineering courses in various Govt. / Pvt. Engineering colleges and universities across India was being done through AIEEE and IIT-JEE till the year 2012. However, in pursuance of MHRD’s directions and subsequent decision of the JEE Apex Board, from the academic session 2013 AIEEE has been replaced by the JEE (Main) and IIT-JEE as JEE (Advanced). The JEE (Main) (formerly known as AIEEE - Paper I) for admissions to B.E./ B.Tech courses at NITs, IIITs, DTU, Delhi and other CFTIs will be held on Month of April. Top 1,50,000 JEE (Main) qualifying students are eligible to appear for JEE (Advanced) which is the new exam conducted by the IIT’s in lieu of IIT-JEE.
All the universities that previously accepted AIEEE scores will now accept JEE (Main) scores and IIT’s will select students on the basis of JEE (Advanced) marks. However few exceptions are there like VIT, BITS-Pilani, IPU-CET, AMU and Manipal (B.Tech) which will conduct their own exams for admission into full time Engineering courses. Along with these UPSEE, CG-PET, WBJEE, JKCET and OJEE also conducting their won test for B. Tech/ B. Arch courses.
