Manipal University Online Entrance Test

Manipal University, Karnataka invites all the applicants for admission into Medical and Engineering courses viz., MBBS, BDS, BE, BPharm, PharmD. The world class facilities and infrastructure are incomparable. Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal which is providing MBBS Degree was established in 1953 as the first self financing medical college in the private sector. Today the college consistently ranks amongst the top ten medical colleges in the country. KMC is recognized by the Medical Council India. As part of the ongoing initiative, 100% free-ships are offered to meritorious students. Admission into the said courses will be done on the basis of All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test (AIMUOET) which will be conducted around mid of April.

Information regarding MCI:

The admission criteria and process for MBBS course is applicable only when Manipal University conducts the entrance examination. The criteria and process may change if the Medical Council of India conducts the proposed All India Medical Entrance Examination for MBBS course for the academic year 2014-2015 and Manipal University has to follow the guidelines/ directions of MCI.

Duration of MBBS course: 4 ½ years plus 1 year compulsory rotating internship
Reservation of Seats: Open for all states on the basis of Manipal University OET score.

Admissions:
Admissions to MBBS and BDS courses are done only on basis of rank in All India Manipal University ONLINE Entrance Test (MU-OET).

Important Dates of MU-OET:

  1. Last date for Receipt of Application: First week of March
  2. Online Test Booking Date: Last week of March
  3. Examination Date: Mid of April to Mid of May
  4. The UGET Result: On the month of May
  5. Classes will be started on:  1st August

Eligibility Criteria

  1. The applicant for MBBS & BDS must be an Indian
  2. The applicant should not be below the age of 17 years
  3. Applicants must have completed their 10+2 Examination from a recognized University/ Board (either State/ Central) with a minimum of 55 % marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.

Exam Pattern of MBBS/BDS under MU-OET:

OET is conducted ONLINE, and candidates have to answer on a computer provided at the examination center. Candidates aspiring for MBBS and BDS have to score a minimum of 50% marks in the OET for being eligible for the admission.

Structure of MU-OET

The examination which consists of 240 MCQ will be administered giving duration of 2.30 hrs. Approximate number of questions from each subject is as follows:

Physics - 60
Chemistry - 60
Biology - 80
English & General Aptitude - 40
Total = 240 

Scoring & Negative Marking

Each question carries one mark. Each correct answer will be awarded one mark. The wrong answer or unanswered questions will receive no (positive/negative) mark. There is no negative marking. The final score will be displayed in the test screen immediately after the test. The candidate should acknowledge the score in the print out of the score card in the presence of the invigilator.

Score Validity: The score will remain valid up to one year.

Test Syllabus of MU-OET:

Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General English include questions based on the 10+2 Syllabus followed by major 10+2 Boards / Universities.

Merit List:

Based on the marks obtained in MU-OET, Manipal University will declare a list of all candidates who have appeared for the entrance test on or before 17.05.2014 in the website. In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks, the inter-se merit of  such  candidates  will  be  determined  on  the  basis  of higher marks in the order of preference as under:

  1. Biology in MU-OET 2014
  2. Physics in MU-OET 2014
  3. Chemistry in MU-OET 2014
  4. PCB marks in 10+2

Examination Fees:

The total fee for application includes-

  1. Application Fee of Rs. 600, mandatory for all applicants
  2. Entrance Test Fee of Rs. 1000 only for selected courses

How to Apply:

Student can select any one of the following options suited to their convenience.

He/she can pay the fees either through Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking or Demand Draft.
Or
Write to Manipal University at the following address to request for application form, by enclosing a request along with a Demand Draft for Rs. 600 drawn in the name of Manipal University made payable at Manipal or Udupi.

Candidates are required to send the Application form and DD/ Challan for Rs.1000 drawn on 'Manipal University' payable at Manipal or Udupi on or before 11.03.2014.

The candidates who apply offline can either download the pdf application-take printout of it or can buy from Manipal University Admissions center.

The requirements that have to be satisfied before applying are:

·         A Scanned copy of passport size photograph in .jpg format (200 x 200 dpi)

·         A Scanned copy of signature in .jpg format ( 200 x 200 dpi)

·         Credit card or DD towards payment of test fee Rs.1000

(B) For those who apply OFFLINE

Fill the particulars and register yourself before, you download the brochure and application form. Applicants can take printout of the application form and then complete it in all respects. After completion it can be mailed to Admissions center along with the DD of total fees for the test.
