Each item/question carries 4 marks. For each incorrect response 1 mark will be deducted from the total score i.e., 1/4thnegative marking. Duration of paper would be 3 hours (180 Minutes) from 10:00 am to 01:00 pm. Language of the question papers will be either in English or in Hindi along with Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati and Bengali as optional for respective states students.

Pattern of JIPMER MBBS Exam:

The Entrance Examination will be of multiple choice type questions totaling 200 in the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Each answer with correct response shall be awarded one mark. Zero mark will be given for the question not answered. More than one answer indicated against a question, will be deemed as incorrect response and no mark will be given. There is no NEGATIVE MARKING.

The question paper covers the areas of English, Biology, Physics and Chemistry. The number of questions will be 200 with duration 150 minutes (2 ½ hrs). There will be four alternatives for each of the question numbering 001 to 200. The candidate will indicate his/her response to the question by darkening the appropriate circle completely with Ball-Point Pen.

Manipal UGET for MBBS/BDS

Exam Pattern of MBBS/BDS under Manipal UGET:

Admissions to MBBS and BDS are done only on basis of rank in All India Manipal University ONLINE Under Graduate Entrance Test UGET. UGET is conducted ONLINE, and candidates have to answer on a computer provided at the examination center. Candidates aspiring for MBBS and BDS have to score a minimum of 50% marks in the UGET for being eligible for the admission.

The examination which consists of 240 MCQ will be administered giving duration of 2.30 hrs. Approximate number of questions from each subject is as follows:

In the entrance examination the paper of physics, chemistry and biology will have multiple choice questions, while that on Gandhian thought will be of long and short answer type.

The competitive Entrance Examination shall consist of two papers: Paper-1 and Paper-2.

The candidate is expected to attempt all the 180 questions in the common answer sheet. Out of four circles provided for selection of answer against a question, the candidate should shade one circle only. Paper 2: The Gandhian thoughts shall carry 60 marks and shall be of 3 hours duration. The questions will be of essay type and/or short answer questions and the paper may be answered either in English or Hindi. Only one 32 page answer sheet will provided for writing the answers and no supplementary answer sheet will be provided after that.

The questions will be from biology, physics, Chemistry and General ability. There will be a total of 180 questions 60 questions from each subject. The time given for answering 180 questions is 120 minutes.

General ability test contains 120 questions which should be completed in 70 minutes. There will be no negative markings. Five options will be given to the candidate for each question with only one correct answer. Total time is 3 hrs. 10 minutes. Maximum Marks is 300.
